My First Scale Helicopter

My fourth helicopter was bought from new in kit form on 4th July 2001 and took me into scale. No Hirobo Lama is complete without the scale cockpit and external detail. This kit also has navigation lights that I linked into the flight mode switch which looked impressive at takeoff. I did experiment with white SAB carbon blades with this helicopter, but the supplied wooden semi symmetrical blades are of a very high quality and suit the model very well without any overheating from the OS32. I also experimented with solid state gyros but this scale beauty preferred the mechanical Futaba 154 and rewarded me with a beautiful scale flight characteristic.

Unfortunately, I have recently sold this model due to lack of flying as my main passion is 3D and I only flew this model once a year on our August Bank Holiday Fun Fly.
